Playscript for “Do Ask Do Tell” movie and slide show
Note: Because of a Microsoft software glitch (having to do with table entries in Word converted to HTML), the hyperlinks starting about half way thru the file were one or two files "behind" and there are extraneous links (using the "span" subcommand), from about 7/11 to 7.124. I repaired this on 7/24/2006 by deleting extraneous href links.
7/25 Most links should work; I could have missed a few.
The purpose of this sequence of pictures and clips is
to suggest what an indie documentary film like
“Do Ask Do Tell” could “look” like. Of course, some of the images are not of
the best quality and would be re-taken if used. This is what I can do on a
“zero budget.” With $$$ it could be much more polished. (Visit my movie
reviews at http://www.doaskdotell.com/movies ) Here is
a discussion of a practical way to organize
this material on a
Most of the video clips are unedited. The intention is to sketch out content and what it would look like. With sufficient resources, scenes would be reshot professionally in high definition or some suitable technology. I have several scripts to develop this material, and not all of them are shown publicly (on this site).
The content of this file corresponds more or less to a film with a PG-13 rating. There are no sexually explicit pictures or images, but some of the audio discussion is about mature subjects, suitable essentially in high school. Here, I mention my blog: http://billboushka.blogspot.com http://billretires.blogspot.com http://billsinternetsafety.blogspot.com/
Here are some terms:
Applicability date: The approximate date in history that the image refers to. The entries will be in approximate chronological sequence by this date (but not always!) – enough to make sense!
Content date: The time that the actual image content was originally taken or created
Photograph date: The date that the image was photographed
MPG – movie; JPG – still; R – rephotographed The MPG’s have not been edited, although some of them will be done soon.
A ‘*’ after MPG means higher definition (a larger file but shorter time); generally these are files from MN.
Musical signature and credit frame for DADT film (sketch) Also, here is my home-taken headshot.

This was a 1951 Kimball console piano in the living room; I was called “a boy who plays.” Crosshands was a big deal. I got my first stereo in fall 1962, a VM that tracked at 6 grams. I replaced the 78-stylus with a 1 mil stylus to preserve the mono records when tracking heavy, many of them badly worn in inner grooves (especially with piano) by an older RCA Victor “record player” where we used sapphire needles!
