Argument:  Affirmative action should be construed as “aggressive non discrimination.” People should be chosen for educational or employment opportunities on the basis of individual merit alone, in a race, ethnicity and (in most cases) gender-blind way. It may be right to consider balancing opportunities in individual circumstances of documented economic disadvantage.
